This particular recipe is part two of another: Oatstraw Infusion for Calm and Stability. It is recommended to make that infusion first the day before. However, this totally works if you are using commercial oatstraw tea bags as well.
This tea is perfect for morning or evening, both if you can. Oatstraw infusion is very light and sweet on its own, reminiscent of chamomile. You can easily enjoy it as is, this is just one option. The calming benefits of this tea are compounded: it works best when you drink it on a daily basis. Yes, a cup here or there is nice, but to use it as a medicinal application, daily administration is best.
Calming Oat & Rose Milk Tea
- 8oz prepared Oatstraw infusion
- 1 tsp Red Rose & Honey Syrup, or more if you like
- 1/4 cup your choice of milk: gluten free oat or almond milk, dairy free half and half or traditional dairy milk
- 1 pinch of ground cinnamon
Once you have prepared your oatstraw infusion, strain and pour 1 cup (8oz) into a small saucepan with 1/4 cup oat milk or almond milk and reheat until warm. Alternatively, you may use a microwave. Pour warm milk tea into your favorite mug and add the Rose & Honey syrup, stir gently to combine. Top with a pinch of cinnamon and add on some of those candied red rose petals if you like! Sip gently while writing in your gratitude journal, meditating, or anytime you need some calm. This works especially well to double or triple the amounts, pour into a thermos and take to work to sip on throughout the day. You can drink up to 1 quart of oatstraw infusion per day so go for it, enjoy and be calm.
